RFK Jr. is Stonewalling Pro-Life Policy. He Must Go

TOPLINE: HHS Secretary RFK, Jr. continues to refuse to review the dangerous chemical abortion pill, mifepristone. Despite the calls of state attorneys general across the country and pro-life promises made to Congress, RFK Jr. has followed in the footsteps of the Obama and Biden administrations by stonewalling pro-life efforts at HHS. It’s time to kick this progressive wolf in pro-life sheep’s clothing to the curb. RFK Jr. must go. RFK Jr. Promised to Review the Abortion Pill: • At his confirmation hearing, RFK Jr. promised to review the chemical abortion pill and its safety protocols. • In May, RFK Jr. announced that he asked FDA to conduct a thorough review following the landmark EPPC study.

o This study found that women experience adverse events from the chemical abortion pill 22x higher than admitted by the FDA. 6 Months Later, RFK Jr. Is Backsliding on Life: • In August, RFK Jr. ignored a letter from 22 State Attorneys General asking for the Trump Administration to reinstate the safety protocols initially approved alongside mifepristone. • Those safety protocols include:

o Requiring in-person consultations before prescription to allow screening for ectopic pregnancies, which can be fatal if undiagnosed. o Requiring prescribers to report adverse effects of mifepristone instead of the current requirement to only report deaths. • THEN - RFK’s FDA approved a new generic chemical abortion drug in October. Just like Biden’s HHS, RFK Jr.’s HHS is Stonewalling Congress: • In October 2024, AAF sued HHS for documents on the abortion pill’s approval that CONGRESS had previously requested. To date, AAF has received 0 documents. • Why won’t the FDA approve these Democrat documents to Congress and AAF?

o AAF’s FOIA request and the House Commerce Committee’s spurned request. o DIG DEEPER: AAF Legal’s Article in Human Life Review “Playing Politics With the Abortion Pill: A Quarter Century of Abuse of Power at the FDA” BOTTOMLINE: Republicans gave RFK Jr. a chance and he has failed. RFK Jr. was confirmed under the belief that he would protect vulnerable women and children – not to pursue four more years of progressive pro-abortion policies at HHS. RFK Jr. must go.
