Dr. Zachary Cady is a senior economist with the Institute for Statistical Policy Analysis. In this role, he provides analysis and commentary on an array of policymaking topics.

Before coming to Advancing American Freedom, Dr. Cady was an associate economist with The Buckeye Institute in Columbus, Ohio, where his work primarily focused on scoring state-level tax legislation using Buckeye’s State Tax and Economic Long-run Analysis (STELA) model. Before that, he worked in a number of positions for free market-oriented think tanks, including as a research analyst for the Committee to Unleash Prosperity and as a research intern for the Cato Institute’s Center for Monetary and Financial Alternatives (CMFA).

Dr. Cady obtained his Ph.D. in economics in 2026 from George Mason University, where he also obtained his M.A. in economics (2020) and his B.S. in economics (2016).
