June 12, 2025 Dear Republican Senators, We are grateful for your work on the reconciliation package to implement President Trump’s agenda and extend the expiring Trump-Pence Tax Cuts. One, Big, Beautiful Bill (OBBB) is all that stands between the American people and a $4.6 trillion tax hike in 2026. If Congress gets cold feet—or fails to send the package to the president’s desk— American households will suffer a $2,100 tax increase on average.
OBBB not only defuses the looming tax bomb, it takes a first step toward entitlement reform, rebuilds the military, and ensures that our Border Patrol agents and Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers have the tools they need to secure the border and deport illegal aliens. House conservatives won hard-fought victories on long-overdue Medicaid reforms, partially repealed President Biden’s disastrous Inflation Reduction Act, cut funding to Planned Parenthood, and ended taxpayer dollars for dangerous sex change operations on Americans. Some would hold American families hostage over Joint Committee on Taxation (JCT) and Congressional Budget Office (CBO) estimates.
But, as our analysis has demonstrated, their scoring of 2017’s landmark tax package has undercounted revenue by $1.5 trillion thus far, and could ultimately prove wrong by more than $3.2 trillion over the ten-year window. Even still, the Senate should build on the House’s hard work to perfect the One, Big, Beautiful Bill to deliver for the American people. We recommend lowering the corporate tax rate; eliminating the State and Local Tax (SALT) deduction entirely; instituting full, immediate, and permanent expensing; ending all Green New Deal subsidies; and stripping the debt limit language out of the bill.
These changes would promote growth, cut waste, and put America on better footing for tackling our long-term debt crisis. The sooner that Congress can advance these reforms and send a package to the president’s desk for a signature, the sooner our economy can recover from four years of President Biden.
