John Shelton is the Policy Director for Advancing American Freedom. He previously served as a policy advisor for offices in both the House and Senate. His commentary has appeared in outlets such as the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, New Yorker, Christianity Today, First Things, Plough, and The Gospel Coalition.
John earned degrees from the University of Virginia (B.A.), Duke University (M.Div.), and is a former member of the American Academy of Religion.
