David R. Burton is Senior Research Fellow at Advancing American Freedom. He focuses on securities regulation, tax matters, entrepreneurship, business law, financial privacy, regulatory and administrative law issues and the efficacy and ethics of markets.
Previously, he was Senior Fellow in Economic Policy at the Heritage Foundation for 12 years. He worked at the National Small Business Association as General Counsel for two years. At NSBA, he focused on labor, employment, immigration, health care and securities regulation issues. He was Chief Financial Officer and General Counsel of the start-up Alliance for Retirement Prosperity, a conservative alternative to AARP.
