WASHINGTON — Today, Advancing American Freedom (AAF) announced the addition of Hans von Spakovsky as a Senior Legal Fellow in the new Edwin Meese III Institute for the Rule of Law at AAF.
Hans von Spakovsky previously served as the Manager for the Election Law Reform Initiative and as a Senior Legal Fellow in the Edwin Meese III Center for Legal and Judicial Studies at the Heritage Foundation.
Advancing American Freedom Senior Legal Fellow von Spakovsky released the following statement: “I look forward to advancing the cause of liberty at the new Edwin Meese III Institute for the Rule of Law at Advancing American Freedom. My career has been dedicated to the vital work of election integrity, defending the Constitution and the rule of law, advocating for limited government, and protecting our fundamental rights as Americans.
That includes eliminating discrimination in any form, particularly the scourge of anti-Semitism. There is no place for such pernicious and invidious hatred in this nation. Advancing American Freedom is giving me the opportunity to continue that work and to ensure that this great nation, which welcomed my immigrant parents, remains a beacon of freedom and opportunity.”
Advancing American Freedom President Tim Chapman stated: “Hans von Spakovsky needs no introduction. Over the course of his career, Hans has established himself as the authority in the Conservative Movement on election integrity, civil rights, and the rule of law, among many other issues. AAF is delighted to welcome Hans to our team where he will continue to serve the American people and the Conservative Movement in defense of the Constitution”
Vice President of The Edwin Meese III Institute for the Rule of Law, John Malcolm stated the following: “Hans and I have been close friends and colleagues for decades. It has been a privilege and a pleasure working with Hans, and I am delighted that we will be continuing that relationship at AAF to help fulfill Ed Meese’s vision of educating the public on important legal issues and continuing to grow the conservative legal movement.”
Former U.S. Attorney General Edwin Meese III stated the following: “I congratulate Advancing American Freedom on adding Hans von Spakovsky to its new Edwin Meese III Institute for the Rule of Law and am confident that his proven abilities will enhance the Institute’s mission of upholding the Constitution and the rule of law.”
Von Spakovsky has enjoyed a long career in government and the Conservative Movement, including stints at the Federal Election Commission, Department of Justice, and President Donald Trump’s Presidential Advisory Commission on Election Integrity. He is the current Chairman of the Public Interest Legal Foundation and actively serves on the Board of Advisors of the U.S. Elections Assistance Commission.
