In the shadow of a recent study suggesting that the chemical abortion pill is much more dangerous than the FDA claims, the agency is considering three citizen petitions asking it to retain or loosen regulations on mifepristone. Advancing American Freedom filed comments responding to each and urging the Trump FDA to consider the evidence long ignored under previous administrations.
When the FDA approved mifepristone, it did so with limitations on its prescription as required by the agency’s own regulations but those limitations were pared back almost entirely by subsequent Democrat administrations. For too long, the FDA has played politics with the abortion pill. We hope the FDA will now review its regulations with a view toward women’s health and safety rather than politics.
