Advancing American Freedom today released a legislative framework that slashes radical liberals’ job- killing regulations, fights back against the government’s woke Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) agenda, and restores American energy independence and launches a new era of American energy dominance.
“In order to set the United States back on a path of energy independence, Congress must replace its radical energy agenda with policies that put hardworking families first,” said Advancing American Freedom founder Vice President Mike Pence. “Our legislative framework stops the Left’s war on American energy and will restore the United States as a global leader in energy production.”
Advancing American Freedom worked with more than 50 allies across the conservative movement to launch its Freedom Agenda in March 2022, providing a compelling framework for leaders and activists across the country to promote at every level of government. At the start of this new Congress, Advancing American Freedom continues to roll out a new series of legislative recommendations to inscribe the vision and values of the Freedom Agenda into law.
In the 118th Congress, Advancing American Freedom will call on Republicans to take up legislation that advances the policy priorities that will reverse the impact of climate radicalism, unleash American energy, and secure energy dominance. These policy priorities include, but are not limited to:
Ending Congressional Climate Theater: Eliminate the House Select Committee on the Climate Crisis and other mechanisms by which the Left furthers its climate agenda on Capitol Hill.
Rejecting Climate Mandates: Reject federal mandates that reduce consumer choice, drive up costs, and increase reliance on materials from our foreign adversaries.
Establishing Global Energy Leadership: Reject attempts to curb exports of U.S. produced oil, helping to restore the United States’ status as a global leader in energy.
Eliminating Woke Capital: Reverse the impact of Environmental, Social, and Governance rules on American businesses.
Repealing Government Mandates: Rollback the regulatory burden set in place by the Biden administration and Congressional Democrats.
Expediting Creation of Critical Energy Infrastructure: Accelerate land lease sales and permitting approval to unleash American energy producers.
The legislative framework is part of a $10 million American energy independence campaign launched in March 2022. As part of the campaign, AAF placed targeted advertisements in eight congressional districts, resulting in 35 million impressions, and hosted a nationwide series of policy events designed to engage key stakeholders in support of a pro-American energy agenda. AAF’s efforts in 2023 will build off the success of that campaign, seeking to further amplify our conservative policy agenda and end the assault on American energy.
