Aug 15 On August 15, the Biden-Harris administration announced that 10 drugs were selected for the Medicare drug price negotiation program. The 10 drugs that were selected are among the most frequently prescribed to people with Medicare Part D. This policy infringes on free market principles by establishing price controls on popular medications, reducing production incentives for pharmaceutical companies.

Aug 15 Also on August 15, the Biden-Harris administration announced that it would spend $50 million to adapt internal-combustion engine automobile factories into electric vehicle factories. The heavy-handed use of taxpayer money to replace a product with over 90% market share with a product that has less than 10% market share is yet another example of leftist social engineering, or as Ronald Reagan put it, “a little intellectual elite in a far-distant capitol [planning] our lives for us better than we can plan them ourselves.”

Aug 16 On August 16, the two-year anniversary of the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), U.S. Department of Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack announced that the USDA is funding 160 clean energy projects in 26 states. The $99.6M grant is directly funded by the Biden-Harris administration’s IRA. This spending-spree–a clear misallocation of tax dollars–is being spent to “combat climate change” as part of the Biden-Harris administration’s Investing in America agenda.

Aug 21 On August 21, the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) revised its overstatement regarding the number of jobs created between April 2023 and March 2024 under the Biden-Harris administration. The BLS revised down its estimate of total employment by 810,000 jobs.

Aug 22 Taking its cues from a Day 1 Biden executive order, the General Services Administration adopted a rule on August 22 entitled "Federal Management Regulation; Updating the FMR with Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility Language,” which replaces all mentions of “he,” “she,” “his,” or “her” in federal regulations with gender-neutral language. This erasure of men and women is yet another example of the Biden-Harris administration’s woke agenda and misaligned priorities.

Aug 26 On August 26, the Biden-Harris Administration invested nearly $3.5 million in the Commercial Motor Vehicle Operator Safety Training Grant Program in addition to the funding the FMCSA already allocates to safety for CDL drivers, which is over 50% of their budget. The CMVOST program distributes DEI grants. The Biden-Harris administration has continued to splurge millions of dollars on unnecessary and discriminatory programs instead of focusing on high-priority objectives like border security and supporting America’s allies.
