When mobs gathered outside the homes of Supreme Court justices in light of the recent Dobbs draft opinion leak, the Biden White House and Department of Justice refused to condemn intimidation and threats against justices. Even while protests necessitated increased security for the justices amid threats against their lives and family members, a White House representative remarked, “We certainly continue to encourage that outside of judges’ homes.” They went on to say that “intimidation and threats against people seeking legal reproductive healthcare—and against our Capitol and American democracy also warrant some outrage.”
