Attorney General Merrick Garland released a memo directing the FBI to take an active role in addressing “harassment, intimidation, and threats” against school administrators, board members, teachers, and staff in the wake of protests against critical race theory and failed responses by school boards and administrators to sexual harassment and assault. The memo was widely understood to give the FBI a directive to intrude on local school board meetings and crack down on anti-critical race theory parental protests.
