The Biden-Harris Administration announced 6 actions being taken to “address the gun violence public health epidemic.” These actions included multiple directives to restrict “ghost guns” (guns assembled from disparate pieces or “printed”) and gun braces, as well as to encourage constitutionally dubious laws such as “red flag” laws, which make it easier to take guns away from law-abiding people. The announcement contains multiple references to the misguided notion that a solution to gun violence is increased intervention and funding from the federal government—including Medicaid funding.
