The Biden Administration continued a push for electric vehicles and away from petroleum-powered vehicles without taking any action to ensure American independence in this sector. The administration announced they would accelerate the deployment of EVs and chargers despite the obvious national security risks of increasing American energy and transportation reliance on China and the Congo, which produce most of the world’s minerals needed for the batteries in electric cars.
