On October 4th, President Biden announced an additional $9 billion in student debt relief, bringing the total debt cancellation of the Biden administration to $127 billion. The manner in which the Biden administration is forgiving student loans disadvantages taxpayers who did not attend college or those who worked hard to pay off their student loans. The recent announcement comes as the Biden administration continues to ignore the root issues of affordability in higher education.
In early October, Biden’s Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) proposed an expansion of sex-based harassment in the workplace to include using pronouns that do not align with an individual’s gender identity. The new definition flies in the face of consistent rulings by federal courts which have made it clear that it is not lawful for employers to pressure employees to use speech with which they disagree.
