Advancing American Freedom and Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America led a coalition of 42 other amici defending the fundamental right of parents to direct the upbringing of their children, the right of minors to have parental wisdom, guidance and protection, and the right to life of the unborn. In Montana v. Planned Parenthood of Montana, the State is appealing to the Supreme Court asking it to reverse the Montana Supreme Court ruling overturning the state law that requires parental consent and notification for abortions performed on minors. AAF partnered with SBA to bring to the attention of the Court important information regarding the rights of parents, the particular dangers of abortion for minors when parents are not involved, and the disregard of Planned Parenthood for parental involvement.
“This case touches upon some of the most important legal and moral issues of our time: parental rights, children’s rights, and the rights of the unborn,” said AAF General Counsel J. Marc Wheat. “We urge the Supreme Court to take this case and uphold Montana’s law protecting the rights of minors, their parents, and the unborn.”
