Advancing American Freedom expressed its disappointment with the ruling of the 2nd Circuit Court of Appeals, which found limited immunity for a bureaucrat who tried to intimidate insurance companies from doing business with the National Rifle Association.
“No government official should have the power to deprive a lawful organization of a full range of financial services without facing constitutional review,” said J. Marc Wheat, AAF General Counsel. “The actions in this case stand in violation of the First Amendment rights of free speech and the freedom of association. Should gun owners appeal, Advancing American Freedom will ask the Supreme Court to review this case in the next term.”
